Deltamethrin is a fast acting potent insecticide, giving control of a wide range of insect pests including Heteroptera, Homoptera, Thysanoptera and locusts. Fenvalerate gives effective control of chewing, sucking and biting insects; including those proved resistant to organocholorine, organophosphorus and carbamate insecticides. Permethrin has good residual activity against leaf and fruit eating Lepidoptera and Coleoptera on various crops including cotton, fruit, tobacco and vines.
Organophosphorus products include Chlorpyrifos, which gives control of a wide range of insect pests in the soil or on foliage. Diazinon can be used on various crops such as fruit, vines, vegetables, coffee, maize and cotton, to control sucking and chewing insects and mites; whilst Dichlorvos gives effective control of sciarid and phorid flies in mushrooms, and other sucking and chewing insects in other crops.
