Fumigants can be used to control pests in buildings, soil and produce. They are also used during product processing before importation or exportation in order to prevent the transfer of potential invading harmful organisms. The area to be fumigated is usually sealed or covered to create a sealed environment. Then the fumigant is released into the space to be fumigated. The area being treated is held for a set period of time to allow the fumigant gas to penetrate through the space and kill any infestation present. It is essential that the treated space is ventilated to allow the treatment vapours to disperse. This is essential to allow the area to be safe for humans to enter following treatment.

is a broad-spectrum fumigant tablet formulation activated in the presence of water which is an excellent fumigant and also effectively controls most stored products pests. Very highly toxic to humans and non-target wildlife, for use only by trained operators.Chlorpyrifos 48% EC
